PoE+ Power Delivery
The SG2428P provides 24 PoE+ ports, allowing network data and electrical power to be carried to compatible devices over Ethernet cabling. The current V5.40 specification lists a 250 W total PoE budget, with up to 30 W per port, plus Fast PoE and Perpetual PoE support.
This makes it suitable for devices such as:
- Omada wireless access points
- IP surveillance cameras
- VoIP/IP phones
- Other IEEE 802.3af/at-powered network devices
28-Port Gigabit Connectivity
| Interface | Quantity |
|---|---|
| 10/100/1000 Mbps PoE+ RJ45 | 24 |
| Gigabit SFP | 4 |
| Total Network Ports | 28 |
| PoE Standard | 802.3af/at |
| Maximum PoE per Port | 30 W |
| Total PoE Budget | 250 W |
The four SFP slots provide Gigabit fiber uplink options for connecting switches or extending network links over fiber.

Omada SDN Management
The SG2428P integrates with the Omada SDN platform, allowing switches, access points and gateways to be centrally managed. TP-Link lists centralized management through the web or Omada app, while standalone management supports Web, CLI, SNMP and RMON.
Key management capabilities include centralized management, intelligent monitoring and Zero-Touch Provisioning when deployed with the appropriate Omada management platform.
L2+ & Network Features
Important switching and management functions include:
- Static Routing
- VLAN
- ACL
- QoS
- IGMP Snooping
- Traffic Separation
- Traffic Prioritization
- SNMP
- RMON
Static routing allows the switch to route selected internal traffic without sending everything through an external router, improving efficiency in appropriately designed networks.
Typical Applications
The SG2428P is designed particularly well for business deployments involving IP cameras, IP phones, wireless access points, PCs and printers. TP-Link specifically illustrates surveillance, conference calling, Wi-Fi coverage and conventional wired connectivity as deployment scenarios.
